As the goal established in Fonade’s Strategic Plan of the Project Development Financial Fund (2007-2010) where its main objective is to “Consolidate FONADE as the State’s Agency for Development, socially responsible, profitable and competitive in the national environment”, it has been decided to strengthen the implementation of the Social Policy promoted by the Presidency of Colombia in the projects carried out or to administrate it in 1101 of the country’s municipalities, through a different approach towards having a labor related link with the vulnerable population.

With FONADE’S Social Policy to date there are more than 680 beneficiary families in 22 departments (states) thanks to the sum of efforts with the contracting agencies and entities such as: Acción Social (Social Action), la Alta Consejería para la Reintegración Social y Económica, la Fundación Panamericana para el Desarrollo-FUPAD (High Advisory for the Social and Economic Reintegration, the Pan American Foundation for Development FUPAD) and the International Organization for Migrations – OIM.
Towards the end of 2008 more than 6,800 direct jobs were generated and close to 10,000 indirect employments were a fruit of this initiative.

Additionally, FONADE carried out with the National University a specialized    consultancy to establish the framework, strategies, priorities and instruments for the implementation of the social component in the project’s portfolio of the State’s Agency for Development.

As part of FONADE’S Social Policy, and thanks to the Entity’s responsible financial practice, contributions above COP 320,000 Million Pesos (USD 160 Million) have been made since 2002, destined to different projects in execution with the purpose of broadening its scope or performing complementary works in the following sectors:
Infrastructure for Education, Infrastructure for Social Welfare, Utilities Infrastructure, Transportation Infrastructure; Tourist and Sports Infrastructure, among others.
